If you notice any of the following occurring with your child, it may be time to reach out to the school counselor:
When should I refer my child to school counseling?
How does my child let the counselor know they'd like to be seen?
If your child would like to meet with me for individual time, there are several ways you can let me know:
• Contact me by phone or email with a brief description of what your child would like to discuss. *** Please note that sensitive details over electronic communications should be kept as brief as possible for privacy purposes.***
• If they feel comfortable, have your student inform their classroom teacher that they'd like to talk to the counselor, and they will send me an email.
• K-5 students can fill out a counseling request sheet in their classroom, which their teacher will leave in my mailbox.
• 6-12 students can fill out a request at my office door and leave it at my office.
• Students may also stop by my office and let me know in person they'd like to chat.
